How to cook Japanese style Curry

Chop up one whit onion. Caramelize onion in skillet. (Optional – add meat (beef or chicken cut into cubes) and cook.) Put chopped carrots (1-2 based on preference) and (optional – cubes of peeled potatoes) into a medium/large pot and add caramelized onion and meat and water and bring to a boil. Simmer 10 minutes or until vegetables are soft. (You can also pan fry the vegetables before boiling if preferred.) Once the vegetables are cooked, you can then add the spice cubes. stir until completely dissolved, then simmer for 5 minutes. Serve with cooked white rice.

Another note not made in this video is that the word for “someplace” in general is どこか to state that you are going someplace in general. But you may use どこか more when asking someone if they would like to go somewhere with the expression どこかにいきませんか or more casually どこかにいかない.
